Advertising
Advertising is used in many schools to share important events, holidays, sports games, hot lunches, clubs and teams, awards, etc. It can be used as a helpful tool to remind students and staff about events and keep them updated throughout the month. Some forms of advertising you can find around your school are social media, announcements, flyers/posters, any school related app, etc.
ADVERTISEMENT IDEAS
Advertising in schools can be done in multiple ways. Here are some examples of what was said to work the best amongst students and teachers in the division.

Social media - Posts, stories, Instagram reels, Facebook posts (share it), public Snapchat stories, hashtags or sayings, videos and photos, or podcasts.

School-Related Advertisements – Posters around halls, announcements, tv monitor, Edsby, dates on display calendar, students go around to classrooms to deliver announcements, or sending emails/messages.

Instagram Reels

Hashtags
Hashtags allow reach and allow word of mouth to spread. Through utilizing hashtags, such as #elrosecomposite on Instagram, or #sunwestSD on Twitter (X), this makes sure that the posts are getting to the right people.

Podcasts
Here is the podcast called The Sunny Side, by Farrah Low from Davidson School. The Sunny Side is about student leadership. Farrah brings in students across the school division to talk about a variety of topics.

SCHOOL-RELATED ADVERTISING
Posters
Posters are an effective way to spread word around the school building. They can be super decorated, fit to be put on your schools' Instagram post, very simple, or even a large hand-drawn poster!

Announcements
One extremely easy and popular way to advertise in school is through the announcements. For example, at Outlook High School, if there is an extracurricular practice/meeting that day, it is normally in the announcements in the morning and at the time of the activity. TV monitor slides are also a very effective way to advertise in your school, if you have a common-room TV!

One of our final ways to advertise is by using verbal announcements, which is one way your school may be able to spread the word!
